The Center for Life Experience, Inc., Hays, Kansas, a 501c3 organization supporting those in grief in northwest Kansas, is seeking an Executive Director. The Executive Director is responsible for planning, organizing, and facilitating trauma and grief support groups. In addition, the Executive Director will perform fund-raising functions and administrative duties as required. The ideal candidate will have specialization in trauma, grief and loss and the ability to work effectively with an Executive Board, key stakeholders and office administrator.
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written are paramount. Applicants with a background in budgeting, grants, social media and non-profit administration will be considered as strong candidates. Applicants should have bachelor’s degree in social work, counseling, applied human services or psychology. Licensure in social work or clinical orientation is preferred.

Full Job Decription
The Executive Director reports to Executive Committee of Board of Directors
Overall supervision of Administrative Assistant, staff, contractor, student interns and volunteers.
Facilitate Center for Life Experience (CFLE) support group meetings
Plan agenda for the meetings
Contact guest speakers
Work with Administrative Assistant on coordinating special programs and events, and
Select appropriate materials for meeting participants
Meet privately with group participants as needed or requested
Work with Board of Directors to develop a long-range strategic plan to assure the sustainability
Apply for grants to assure the financial integrity and stability of CFLE
Work with Board of Directors to develop annual budget
Assign budget category for expenditures and invoices
Approve invoices and expenses for payment
Oversee monthly income, expenditures and deposits
Review and manage donations
Review monthly financial reports before presentation to Board of Directors
Consult with Board of Directors to identify opportunities to develop partnerships with other
agencies throughout the service area that complement and support the CFLE mission
Cultivate inter-agency relationships to create greater awareness of CFLE and develop positive
relationships with potential donors and stakeholders
Meet annually with area stakeholders, donors and community leaders to strengthen relationships,
promote CFLE and generate additional supportive contacts
Develop partnerships with area educational institutions to engage student interns who will
provide support to CFLE operations, initiate special projects and develop positive relationships
with program participants that will enhance their skills and professional goals
Work with community leaders to develop CFLE support groups in underserved areas in the
CFLE service area
The Executive Director will:
Schedule monthly Board of Director meetings to conduct the business of the agency
Consult with the Chair to develop an agenda for the monthly meetings and provide support materials
to members at least two days prior to the scheduled meeting
Work with the Board Treasurer on monthly financial reports that are provided to the Board for their
review and approval
Provide program updates, inform Board of organizational policy issues needing action, and carry out
tasks as assigned
